Everybody gets stressed, fact!
In today's world with wall to wall information sharing and news coverage throughout the globe on all the horrible stuff going on it's no wonder we're all stressed. Hardly a day goes by without some crisis or another hitting the headlines. All this and having to cope with our personal lives too! We get up in the morning feeling more tired than we were when we went to bed, fight our way through the traffic dealing with other stressy people who are trying to get to work on time too. Then, once we get there we have to put up with the grumpy one who's always complaining, or the sarcastic one who feels he's hard done by. Then it's home time only to meet the grumpy teenager from hell who's tired and want's their tea NOW. By the time we've finished picking up their clothes off the floor and washed up we've hardly time to sit down and relax before it's bed time and the whole process starts all over again. It doesn't have to be like this. The problem is mood feeds mood. If we are surrounded by grumpy people we begin to feel grumpy ourselves. The sarcastic guy winds you up so you're sarcastic back. The moody teenager gets you down and you become moody too. We have to break the cycle. The only way is to stop rushing and breathe. Give a smile to the first person you see, it releases the right sort of chemicals, the happy ones. Stay calm when the flash git in the sports car pulls out in front of you, he's stressed but you don't want to be like him, your better than that. At work take no notice of the grumpy sarcastic idiot who always complains, you've got better things to think about. Be the example to the moody teenager as when they get past this stage they will start to be more like you. They may not listen to you but they are always watching you. Be the shining light that others look up to. Be the one others wish they could be. Be who YOU want to be rather than what the majority have become. Be nice to each other and more tolerant. Forgive and understand instead of hate and rage. We all have a choice how we are going to be when we wake up in the morning. I choose to be happy. Join me. First published on Merryfield Hypnotherapy.
