COVID-19
Covid-19 and it's different strains has given us all plenty to think about. There are restrictions in everything we do in order to keep the risk of catching the disease at a minimum.
After the latest Government update we are still able to see clients Face-To-Face. If you are not comfortable with Face-to-Face sessions then Video-Link sessions are also available. The price is the same whatever you decide.
The requirements listed below are relevant ONLY if Face-To-Face sessions is the way you prefer to go.
For the record, I have had both Covid-19 vaccinations and the booster jab.

In addition to the usual consent for undergoing Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, clients are asked to take note of the following:
The client
- That the client acknowledges that in spending more than 15 minutes with me in a Face-to-Face session that they would be deemed as a ‘contact’ in respect of the UK Government’s Test & Trace system (and UK devolved nation equivalents) and agree to be contacted as such should the client or therapist become infected by Covid-19.
- That the client’s contact details may be shared with the NHS in the interests of their own safety, that of their household and in the interests of wider public health should it be found that the client or the therapist has been infected with Covid-19
- That the client must provide their consent that I can share their contact details with the Government Test & Trace services (or devolved nation equivalents) in the event that the client or the therapist has been infected with Covid-19. The client's contact details will remain confidential, and the reason for being in contact with me (for therapy) would not be disclosed.
- That if the client is in a ‘moderate’ risk group, they acknowledge that this means face-to-face therapy may cause an increased risk to them if they were to become infected with COVID-19.
- That any client travelling for a face-to-face appointment who uses public transport or has a lift with anyone from outside their household acknowledges that this can increase their potential risk of transmission of COVID-19.
- That I have written consent from the client to start therapy (including the Initial Consultation) before the session commences.
- That the client pays either via a bank transfer (I will provide my bank details upon request) or by my Card Reader at the end of the session. At this time I will not be accepting payment by cash or cheque.
- That the client brings with them a filled drinks bottle from home as I will not be able to supply a client a glass of water from the clinic.
- That the client checks that they are symptom free and that anyone in their household is symptom-free. Also to check that you have not been asked to self-isolate as part of the Test & Trace system (or devolved nation equivalent). If needed here are some links to familiarise yourself with Government advice if you should come into contact with anyone who has symptoms: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-for-contacts-of-people-with-possible-or-confirmed-coronavirus-COVID-19-infection-who-do-not-live-with-the-person/guidance-for-contacts-of-people-with-possible-or-confirmed-coronavirus-COVID-19-infection-who-do-not-live-with-the-person
- That the client notifies me via my mobile (07718975185) on the day if they or someone they live with has developed symptoms so that I can reschedule the session for at least 2 weeks' time.
- That the client arrives at the time of their appointment and no earlier, so as not to risk coming into contact with another client who may be leaving after their earlier session.
My Commitment To you
I will endeavour to keep you informed of any changes or additions to the above, and as well as complying with the above myself, I will:
- Provide you with clear instructions and information about social distancing and hygiene measures that you will need to follow when you arrive for your session, so that you understand what to expect before you arrive.
- Ensure that all surfaces have been cleaned thoroughly/disinfected in accordance with my risk assessment – this will include things such as wiping down doors/handles/card reader or anything that you are likely to come into contact with. I will dispose of any cleaning wipes/cloths/gloves safely, ensuring that this waste is disposed of in a receptacle with a lid if possible.
- Ensure that all furniture placement/protective items required for social distancing are in place ready for when you arrive.
- Place a separate bottle of hand sanitiser and a box of tissues next to where you will be sitting, so that I can avoid the need of having to get close to you to pass such items.
- Ensure you will not need to touch any door handles when you arrive or when you leave. I will prop open the door for your arrival and close it when you come in and have moved at least 2 metres away from me. Then, whilst you remain seated, I will then prop the door open ready for you to leave once the session is over.
- Keep my distance so you are able to enter the clinic safely. I will be seated to the right of the doorway, at least 2 metres away.
- Place directional signs for you to follow so that there is no doubt as to where you have to go once you have entered the clinic. I will also be able to provide verbal directions if required.
- Ensure that I keep adequate safe distance between us at all times.
- Ask for your feedback so you have a chance to advise me on anything you feel I could have done better.
- After you have left I will thoroughly clean all surfaces before my next client arrives. I will ensure that there is sufficient time between my appointment bookings for me to thoroughly clean and ventilate the workspace. Once i have cleaned all surfaces I will safely dispose of any cleaning materials (ideally in a lidded bin) and replace disposable materials ready for my next client.
