Music is great at helping boost mental health. When we play music we enjoy, it helps produce Dopamine and Serotonin, making us feel good. Just listening to a song from the past can instantly transport us back to an exact moment in time, reminding us of the fun we had and how we felt, making us feel good right now. Even if it's a sad time we can reflect on how we coped back then and how we moved on to become the awesome person we are right now! To that end, from next week I will be posting on my personal Facebook page my favourite tracks from the very many artists I have in my collection. This will be a daily thing to start of with and then may change to a weekly thing once things start to get busy again. In the meantime, gets those 45's out, or perhaps you still have 8-Track, cassettes or LP's. Do you still use CD's or is it downloads or streaming? Either way, put the music to use, boost that brain and feel good at the same time, after all, as the song says; "I simply remember my favourite things, and then I don't feel so bad" This article first appeared on Merryfield Hypnotherapy.
