Sunday 15th September I was at the beautiful Old Rectory Clinic in Iron Acton to learn how to help children, teens and young adults cope better with stressful and anxious situations. I can remember my teenage life well and how anxious I was back then. The course was delivered by the fabulous Rachel Gillibrand. I'd been to one of her other CPD's before so I knew we were in for a fun and informative time. I was not disappointed. It was very interesting to learn how a child's brain works and to understand how we can help them. The teenage brain is very complicated so it was fascinating to learn more about it and how best to assist teenagers in their development. The whole course was very informative and Rachel used her wonderful sense of humour to inform and advise via some entertaining stories and anecdotes. The lovely Caroline Huish and her husband Peter were our hosts and they provided us with lovely refreshments and a buffet lunch. I'm eager to put my learning into practise and to help children and teenagers have a much better time. Next step is to get myself DBS check and registered so I can start in earnest.
