Hypnotherapy sessions online
Thanks to the internet, we can contact people from all over the world and there's no reason why we can't have hypnotherapy sessions that way too. Indeed, evidence* tells us that it is as effective as meeting in person.
Using Zoom** video link we can still meet face to face in the comfort of your own home. It can be an ideal solution if you are housebound or too far away to justify travelling to see me. **Skype isn’t GDPR compliant as it is not considered secure enough.
Being in your own home instead of a clinic may help you feel less anxious and more assured. You can choose your own comfy chair or lay on the sofa, whatever's best for you.
If you are worried about noise interfering with the sessions, don't be. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) will help you filter out distracting noises enabling you to focus on what is important. However, children are often the exception. If you have young children, it would be advisable to have them looked after during the sessions.
Payment in advance is required for Video Link sessions. Once an appointment date has been booked and paid for I will send you a link for you to activate at the time of your session and further instructions where necessary.
Don't have a camera on your computer? Not a problem, as we can do SFH over the phone too. Same as above, just find somewhere comfortable where you won't be disturbed and instead of face to face, it's voice to voice. The results are just as great either way.
Feel free to contact me for a no obligation chat if you have more questions about online or phone sessions.
Whilst the Covid-19 crisis is happening I will keep Video Link sessions in line with clinic session prices.
This means you can still access the help you need even during self isolation
*¹A 2018 study of the effectiveness of Skype hypnotherapy for IBS found ‘This study shows that Skype hypnotherapy is highly effective in refractory IBS’. Link to the study.
*²In 2016 it was shown the treating depression via an internet-based intervention ‘is equally beneficial to regular face-to-face therapy. However, more long term efficacy, indicated by continued symptom reduction three months after treatment, could only be found for the online group.’ Link to the study.
